Medium viscosity product for injection moulding application. This material with nucleating agent is able to crystallize during processing by increased mould temperature (100-120°C) and longer cycle-time. With cold mould you could produce cutleries, cups and jars for cold foods, ice-creams and drinks with short cycle-time. The quick freezing of the material in an cold (18-38°C) mould, cause amorphous structure and 54°C heat deflection temperature.
Tipical products: Non-cristallized cutleries, cups, plates with <55°C heat resistant.
This biodegradable polymer can be processed on most conventional injection moulding equipment. The material is stable in the molten state, provided that the drying procedures are followed. This product is contain an „green” release agent, so you could produce nice produts with fast cycle-time becase the demoulding process will be easier.
This polymer is good for most of conventional injection moulding machine. When you chose a machine for it, the criterion should be the minimum residence time in the barrel.
In-line drying is recommended. A moisture content of less than 0.025% (250 ppm) is recommended to prevent viscosity degradation. Polymer is supplied in foil-lined boxes or bags dried to <400 ppm. The compound should not be exposed to atmospheric conditions after drying. Amorphous polymer must be dried below 50°C.
Food Packaging Status:
This grade of biodegradable polymer complies with Plastics Regulation 10/2011 as amended. No SML’s for the above referenced grade exist in P.R. 10/2011 as amended. In accordance with P.R.10/2011 the migration should be measured on finished articles placed into contact with the foodstuff or appropriate food simulants for a period and at a temperature which are chosen by reference to the contact conditions in actual use.
Our materials are not pre-crystallized. Please take carefully when dry these materials. Our suggest: 50°C and 12-16 hours drying (overnight) process using dehumidified air with a dewpoint of -40°C. The dried material has moisture content of less than 0.025% (250 ppm) is recommended to prevent viscosity degradation. If you could, measure the moisture content with an moisture analyzer before processing of product.
An important fact! The dried material can absorb the moisture content of the free air within 10 minutes, which significantly reduces the quality of the product. Please pay close attention to this during processing.
